Synopsis | Chinese Whispers (2005) He was a rising star of the Chinese diplomatic service, and Chen Yonglin was very good at his job – a job that included spying and informing on Chinese-Australians. But what the communists didn’t count on is that Chen had a conscience and a craving for freedom. He, his wife and young daughter decided to defect.
